The OGC provides legal support to various departments on issues relating to:
- Complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation: the Office for Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX (EEO-TIX) is responsible for promptly and appropriately addressing reports of discrimination and harassment based on protected characteristics and related retaliation by faculty, staff, students, and applicants (for both employment and student admissions) (see the Policy on Prohibited Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation);
- Disability accommodation: questions or concerns regarding obligations to accommodate faculty or staff should be brought to the attention of the disability accommodations coordinator;
- Employee classification issues;
- Employment contracts;
- Employment litigation;
- Immigration: Faculty/Staff Visa Services provides work-related immigration services to USC hiring departments;
- Labor practices and issues: including interpretation of and compliance with collective bargaining agreements;
- Leaves of absence: please contact the HR Service Center with routine questions about leaves of absence;
- Professionalism and ethics: the Office of Professionalism and Ethics is a single, centralized source for all complaint monitoring and investigations for issues related to safety and security (non-emergency), harassment and discrimination in the workplace, code of conduct and compliance breaches, theft, fraud, waste, abuse, and ethical or conflict of interest violations;
