University Counsel

Matthew Bobb joined the Office of the General Counsel in 2021.  Mr. Bobb provides legal support to the university on labor and employment matters.  His areas of responsibility include managing litigation and providing advice and counsel on a wide variety of employment issues.

Prior to joining USC, Mr. Bobb was an attorney with Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, where he practiced in the firm’s labor and employment group.  Previously, Mr. Bobb worked for Baker Hostetler LLP and Fulbright & Jaworski LLP, practicing employment and general business litigation.  Mr. Bobb has extensive experience providing advice and counsel to employers and representing clients in complex employment litigation, involving wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and unfair competition claims.

Mr. Bobb graduated from Dartmouth College in 2003, with a B.A. in Economics and earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2007.
