Senior Counsel

Steve Yamaguchi joined USC’s Office of General Counsel in 1999. Mr. Yamaguchi is a business transactional attorney who provides legal support, including contract drafting, review, and negotiation for various schools, institutes, and centers, as well as for a number of administrative departments. He also advises on various aspects of university policy and procedures. Mr. Yamaguchi is a Lecturer in Law at the USC Gould School of Law and teaches Contract Drafting, Analysis and Negotiation. Prior to joining USC, Mr. Yamaguchi was with the Los Angeles and Tokyo offices of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP where he practiced in the firm’s financial services department and Asia Pacific Practice Group where he advised clients on a wide variety of business and financial transactions.

Mr. Yamaguchi graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and Japanese from Stanford University and earned a J.D. with a Certificate in International Law from Columbia Law School.
