Senior Counsel

Nada Moeiny joined the Office of the General Counsel in June 2022.  As Senior Counsel, she serves as the lead student and academic affairs attorney, with responsibility for advising the University on a variety of legal issues related to student conduct proceedings, sexual misconduct, student disability accommodations, free speech, admissions, financial aid, residential life, campus safety, athletics, campus activities, and student health.

Ms. Moeiny previously served as in-house counsel at Pepperdine University and the California State University Chancellor’s Office.  Prior to Pepperdine and the CSU, she served as Claims Counsel at United Educators, an insurance company located in Bethesda, Maryland, which insures over 1,600 educational institutions.  She began her legal career practicing labor and employment law as an Associate at a law firm located in Washington, D.C.   She has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law teaching both Employment and Education Law. 

Ms. Moeiny received her J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in 2000 and her B.A. in Political Science with high honors and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley in 1997. She is a member of the Colorado, District of Columbia, and California bar.  She is also a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
