Associate General Counsel, Litigation

As the Associate General Counsel, Litigation, Ross Halper oversees the university’s portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters, as well as government/administrative investigations and disputes.  His responsibilities include crisis management, significant special projects, student affairs, and athletics matters.  He also helps manage the Office of the General Counsel.

Prior to joining the Office of the General Counsel, Mr. Halper was an attorney in the Los Angeles and Century City offices of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he practiced extensively in the areas of complex civil litigation, crisis management, government and internal investigations, and government enforcement actions.

Mr. Halper received his undergraduate degree, with College Honors, from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his J.D., with honors, from the University of Chicago Law School.  He is a member of the California State Bar and the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
